+Branca Stackable Chair by for .
As its name suggests, the Branca chair has been inspired by the organic branching forms that result from wood growth. Designed in 2010, the chair is the result of a close collaboration between designers Industrial Facility and the woodworking expertise of the Mattiazzi factory.
Branca's smooth rounded form belies the complexity of its production which relies on a combination of robot-controlled eight-axis milling machines and traditional hand-shaping and finishing. The chair's back leg supports the critical joints of armrest seat and back and is made from a single piece of robotically-shaped wood, assembled without metal fixings to give a seamless effect.
Comfortable, stackable and light, the Branca chair has been acquired for the permanent collections of the V&A, The Finlandia Design Museum in Helsinki, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Design Museum in London.
Please note: Minimum order is 4 chairs. For smaller orders a small order charge will be applied, please for details.
